Objectives: 1.To position Ba Kelalan as tourism destination in the Heart of Borneo, Malaysia. 2.To Promote the culture, nature and adventure on the Kelabit Highlands 3.To enhance the available tourism package in Malaysian territory into ecotourism exploration 4.To create awareness to the outside world about the tourism jewel in the highlands of Sarawak, Malaysia 5.To introduce the possible and ideal gateway for cross boundary tourism involving Indonesia, Brunei and Malaysia.

Ba Kelalan Ba Kelalan is a remote village nestled in the highlands of the heart of Borneo, Sarawak, Malaysia has been known as the last frontier of Malaysia bordering with Kalimantan, Indonesia. Blessed with beautiful landscape and cool climates that enables growing of Apples, Ba Kelalan is also a home to the Lun Bawang tribes, known as Lun Dayeh in Sabah and Kalimantan. The unique culture and warmth hospitality is their pride. For those who seeks adventure, Ba Kelalan offers ranges of packages to Mt Murud, the highest peak in Sarawak, Batu Lawi and jungle trekking.
For the past two years, with the full support from MTPN Sarawak, VMY 2007 Secretariat, Tourism Malaysia, Ministry of Tourism Sarawak and Sarawak Tourism Board, Borneo Jungle Safari Sdn Bhd and The people of Ba Kelalan has organized to successful events in the highlands called Ba Kelalan Apple Fiesta. The event proven successful with the increasing number of visitors to Ba Kelalan and not to mention the increasing enquiries about the place. Apart from that, by having discovered the ideal geographic structure on the highlands for Mountain biking activities, Miri Mountain Bike Club together with Borneo Jungle Safari has taken the initiative to explore the highlands on cycling expedition which marks the first cycling event in the highlands in conjunctions of Malaysia 50th Anniversary in 2007. This event also has been successful and has taken the attentions of BIMP EAGA Councils for prospects international overland expeditions involving Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia and Kalimantan.
And again, Ba Kelalan is ideally located in between Brunei and Kalimantan for this reason.
The Heart of Borneo "Borneo" conjures up images of adventure on a mysterious island, strange creatures and encounters with exotic people. To conservationists, "Borneo" is one of the world?s biodiversity hotspots. The "Heart of Borneo" is the only remaining place in Southeast Asia that still holds huge tracts of pristine forest. Straddling the trans-boundary highlands of Brunei, Indonesia and Malaysia, the future of this forest heritage depends on joint-cooperation by all three governments as no one country can manage these unique forests alone...
Ba Kelalan is located on the highlands of Sarawak, neighbouring to Bario and Kalimantan. Positioned strategically in between the access to Kalimantan, this place is also makes a very ideal location for overland transfers to Sabah and Brunei through Lawas, the nearest town.
